How to roast goat meat

Roasting goat meat can be a delicious and rewarding experience! Here’s a simple method to get you started:

Ingredients:

  • 1 leg of goat (or shoulder)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup white wine or vegetable stock

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 160°C (320°F).
  2. Prepare the meat: Rub the goat leg with olive oil, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper. Make sure the meat is well-coated with the seasoning.
  3. Roast the meat: Place the goat leg in a roasting pan. Pour the white wine or vegetable stock into the pan to keep the meat moist.
  4. Cover and cook: Cover the pan with aluminum foil and roast in the oven for about 4 hours, or until the meat is tender and falls off the bone easily.
  5. Finish roasting: Remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 200°C (390°F). Roast for an additional 20-30 minutes to get a nice, crispy exterior.
  6. Rest and serve: Let the meat rest for about 10 minutes before carving. Serve with your favorite sides, like roasted vegetables or potatoes.

For a more flavorful twist, you can try marinating the goat meat overnight with yogurt, orange juice, and spices like coriander, turmeric, and cumin.
