Here’s a delicious French Onion Chicken Casserole recipe:
Ingredients:

- 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 2 large onions, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup French onion soup
- 1/2 cup dry white wine (optional)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 cups shredded Gruyère cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup crushed French bread crumbs
- Fresh thyme, chopped (optional)
Instructions:
Step 1: Caramelize Onions (20 minutes)

- In a large skillet, cook sliced onions over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Onions are caramelized when golden brown and fragrant.
Step 2: Prepare Chicken (10 minutes)

- In a separate skillet, cook chicken in butter until browned and cooked through.
- Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
Step 3: Assemble Casserole (15 minutes)

- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine cooked chicken, caramelized onions, French onion soup, and white wine (if using).
- In a separate bowl, mix Gruyère and cheddar cheese.
- In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer:
- Chicken and onion mixture
- Cheese mixture
- Repeat layers, ending with cheese on top
- Sprinkle crushed French bread crumbs and chopped thyme (if using).
Step 4: Bake and Serve (25-30 minutes)

- Bake casserole until golden brown and bubbly.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh thyme (optional).
